We don’t look our age, it’s true. But here we are, celebrating 150 years of excellence in education. Founded in the year of Canada’s Confederation, we can look back proudly at having moved girls’ education out of the dark ages and into the stratosphere. As we mark our 150th, we honour every student who has passed through our doors – from the first day of school in 1867 to this September. It’s been quite a ride – and we want you on it as we celebrate all that has come before, and all that is yet to be.
We came together on September 27, 2016 to kick off a year’s worth of celebrations. On September 12, 2017 – our official birthday – students joined staff and invited guests mid-morning for a ribbon cutting as we officially opened our new wing, built by our generous community. The rest of the day was all party for students, then the full community celebrated the new building at a big birthday evening bash.
